November 2025

2–3 minutes

November is shaping up to be a big month for me, and I am THANKFUL! Just today, my doctor’s office called to move my hip surgery forward! After months of delays and pushing it back, I was gob smacked that we were pushing it forward! Praise Jesus.

However, that means that I will be gone for November. While I recuperate, we will have two guest preachers filling in over the coming weeks. They will continue to preach from our series and bring you the messages we have been studying together all year.

I hope you will view these guests as an exciting time to get another perspective and voice from God. Our guests work very hard to prepare a timely relevant message for you, so please be encouraging to each of them.

I will be returning the first week of Advent and we will begin that season together. I will be standing on two healthy feet with two healthy hips if all goes according to plan. And I really cannot wait for that to be my reality!

Please also remember that throughout November, you will all need to be the hands and feet of Christ to one another. Call each other. Check in. Make sure everyone is OK. And if they are not, do something about it! Please be extra aware of those who are missing in worship and reach out.

Finally, thank you for your patience with my broken ankle and now my hip surgery. As I already said, I truly hope to be back on solid ground after all of this. And more active than ever. So please pray for my recovery. Pray I do what I’m told to recover. And pray that all goes well so we can be together once again.

As the timing of all of this has always been in God’s hands, I offer you these words that I have found comfort in waiting for my surgery. They are from Jeremiah 29: 11-14.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.
